Ogham is based on the runic writing of the ancient Celts. It was
used primarily for inscriptions on wood and stone, and as a
result had to be simple and geometric, much like Germanic runes.
There are several peculiarities to Ogham. First off, writing is
VERTICAL, not horizontal, going from top to bottom, not from left
to right. Second, Ogham characters are generally written on the
corners of pieces of stone or wood with the left-hand characters
on the left hand face of the stone, the right hand characters on
the right hand face, and the middle characters half on each face.
In addition, the alphabet does not contain several standard
letters and contains several non-standard ones. The 'Z'
character is also used for 'ST'. The small 'n' character is used
for 'NG'. The small 'c' and small 'e' are alternative
forms for those two letters.
Another weird, ancient font from Scriptorium...
